Jake Walker Trio

Jake Walker is a native New York Blues singer and guitarist. A regular on the European touring circuit, Jake Walker is known for his sweet, melodic, and dynamic guitar phrasing, as well as his soulful vocals and strong original material. Jake began his professional career in the Blues backing JSP recording artist James Peterson, and his son, Lucky Peterson, in clubs and restaurants on the west coast of Florida. Returning to New York, Jake established his own voice in the competitive NYC Blues scene, fronting bands such as the neo-burlesque NYC Blues Devils (weekly house band at The Cutting Room), and running several popular local Blues Jams. A simple live recording of one of these jams, posted on Myspace, caused no small buzz in 2006, earning Jake "Artist of The Week" at Big City R&B Magazine, regular airplay on blues FM and internet radio, and three overseas tours, all before Jake had recorded his first proper album! In 2008, multi-platinum producer and engineer Elliot Mazer (Neil Young, "Harvest", The Band, "The Last Waltz) showed up at one of Jake Walker's shows at Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Room club, and signed Jake to his new label, LeftTurn. The result was the "Confidence Man" LP, which Mazer also produced. The CD earned universal critical praise, and helped take Jake's presence in the international Blues circuit to a new level, earning him the sobriquet "The Ambassador of New York Blues", after many subsequent tours in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, and Serbia
